This is a book all about words! It’s designed for children at different ages and stages. Very young children can enjoy learning to recognise the letters, while kids learning to read and try reading the words.

There are two narrators of the book – an adult owl and and a child owl. The adult tells the reader some facts, while the child is more playful in their approach to the words. 

So the two narrators entertain the reader with a commentary, and the whole book is really a conversation between them - so that nearly all the words are actually dialogue, with the two characters moving through the book and providing a kind of narrative energy. 

I love working with my friend Andrew Joyner – I think he is a brilliant illustrator! I love the energy in his work, and all the clever little details.
